Recently, Guangdong Sunwill Sait Engineering Plastics Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Guangdong Sunwill Sait”), a subsidiary of Sunwill Co., Ltd., and the Guizhou Provincial Materials Industry Technology Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as “Guizhou Research Institute”) formally signed a strategic agreement and jointly unveiled the “Joint Innovation Platform for Advanced Materials.”
This collaboration targets the cutting edge of the new materials industry, focusing on core sectors such as lightweight materials, eco-friendly new materials, and high-performance engineering plastics. It aims to build a full-chain collaborative innovation system and marks Shunwei Sait’s official transition from “project-based R&D” to “platform-based innovation” in the field of advanced materials.

Four-Dimensional Integration Lays the Foundation; Dual-Drive Strategy Seeks Breakthroughs
Ju Jiajun, Deputy Director of R&D for the Materials Business and Technical Lead of the Joint Innovation Platform, stated that the platform will prioritize research and development in advanced functional materials and lightweighting solutions. In the first phase, it will adopt a strategy of pursuing multiple technical routes in parallel. By establishing a four-dimensional integrated collaboration system linking “the Research Institute—Sunwill—materials suppliers—equipment suppliers,” the platform will bridge the full innovation cycle from the laboratory to mass production lines.
He emphasized that the platform’s core mission is to build a reusable technical system through standardized modules, driving Sunwill Sait’s transformation from a single-product supplier to a provider of new materials solutions.

A Powerhouse Alliance: Jointly Building New Heights in Lightweighting
Qin Shuhao, Director of the Guizhou Research Institute, expressed full confidence in the prospects of the collaboration. He pointed out that Shunwei Sait’s industrial strength lies in its ability to engineer and implement integrated molding and plastic solutions, while the Guizhou Research Institute possesses deep technical expertise in the synthesis and modification of polymer materials. The collaboration between the two parties will create a powerful alliance that ensures “technology with roots and industry with a path forward.” By integrating upstream R&D resources with downstream application scenarios, they will establish a core competitive barrier that is difficult to replicate in the advanced new materials sector.

Director Qin and Sunwill Sait General Manager He Yanhua jointly signed the first-year task agreement, translating the strategic vision into a practical roadmap. The two parties agreed to comprehensively expand their collaboration across six key dimensions: forward-looking pre-research, technology introduction, project applications, collaborative R&D, talent exchange, and testing services. They aim to establish a multidimensional framework driven by pre-research, focused on commercialization, and supported by talent development and testing, thereby accelerating the transformation of the platform from top-level design into tangible results.

Advancing on Six Fronts: Building a Multi-Dimensional Cooperation Framework
Li Yongxiang, Chairman of Sunwill Co., Ltd., spoke highly of the platform’s planning and phased achievements. He emphasized that platform development must remain practice-oriented and closely aligned with market demand, ensuring that “R&D hits the mark and products find their market.” He urged the R&D team to go deep into the front lines, address customer pain points head-on, and avoid working in isolation, thereby ensuring that technological advantages are effectively transformed into competitive market advantages and that the quality of innovation is validated by tangible industrialization results.
“Against the backdrop of the ‘Dual Carbon’ goals, the trend toward lightweight and eco-friendly materials is inevitable,” the chairman noted. He pointed out that, given the continuously rising penetration rate of new energy vehicles and increasingly stringent energy efficiency standards for home appliances, breakthroughs in eco-friendly new materials and high-performance engineering plastics hold significant strategic importance for Sunwill Sait. Only by subjecting innovative achievements to the rigorous test of the market can the platform truly become the core technological engine driving the company’s high-quality development.
Looking ahead, both parties will place equal emphasis on demand-driven and innovation-driven approaches to continuously expand their lightweighting technology portfolio. This collaboration is not only a pivotal step for Sunwill Sait in ascending the high-value-added industrial chain but will also, by establishing technological barriers, transform cost-saving potential and product premium into substantial market returns.
Using micro-foaming technology as a fulcrum, both parties will strive to set an industry benchmark for deep integration of industry, academia, and research. Amid the wave of fostering new-quality productive forces, they will join hands to undertake a strategic journey that combines technological breakthroughs with substantial commercial value.
