At Guangdong Sunwill, there is a group of employees who not only dedicate themselves to their work and contribute to the company’s growth, but also step forward when society faces sudden crises, spreading warmth and strength, and demonstrating the noble spirit of Sunwill employees who act courageously in the face of danger.

The dormitory landlord and affected residents presented Sunwill employees with a banner of appreciation and a cash reward.
At approximately 8:05 a.m. on March 6, a sudden fire broke out in a room adjacent to our company’s employee dormitory. Sun Yongxia, an employee of the Plastics Division, happened to be passing by. Thanks to her keen awareness, she was the first to notice something amiss. The acrid, burning smell in the air and the billowing smoke instantly alerted her to the gravity of the situation. Without a moment’s hesitation, Sun Yongxia immediately reported the fire to Gao Jinkang of the Group Headquarters’ Administrative Department while simultaneously dialing 911, buying precious time for the rescue efforts.
Upon receiving the news, Gao Jinkang fully grasped the gravity of the situation. The moment he saw the thick smoke, the emergency training the company had repeatedly conducted over the years flashed through his mind. The fire raged inside the room, but Gao Jinkang did not flinch. He mustered all his strength to kick open the tightly shut door, skillfully grabbed a fire extinguisher, and, strictly following what he had learned in training, aimed the extinguishing agent precisely at the base of the flames.
But Gao Jin Kang knew deep down that he could not completely extinguish this massive fire on his own. While fighting the fire with all his might, he shouted loudly for other colleagues to come to his aid. Four employees living in the same building—Tao Xiong, Lü Long, Huang Weiwei, and Zhou Shuai—rushed to the scene the moment they heard the call. Working together, they formed a solid line of defense against the raging flames. After about eight minutes, the fire was finally brought under control and gradually extinguished. What remained at the scene were walls blackened by thick smoke and the exhausted yet relieved faces of the group.
Upon learning of the incident, the Group paid close attention to the matter. Zhong Jining, the Group’s Vice President, Director of the Safety Committee, and Chairman of the Sunwill Trade Union, immediately extended warm condolences and presented a grand commendation to the employees who participated in extinguishing the fire, praising Gao Jinkang and others for setting a shining example for all employees through their actions.
In an interview, Gao Jinkang spoke with simple sincerity: “At the time, there was no time to think much; I just knew I couldn’t let the fire get any bigger. The company has always taught us to prioritize everyone’s safety. I never imagined that the firefighting knowledge from our previous training would prove so invaluable in this situation.” Subsequently, they were commended by the Shunde District Fire and Rescue Brigade. The employees and landlords of the affected dormitory expressed deep gratitude and specially presented them with a banner of appreciation and a cash reward to honor their spirit of bravery and public service.
In the future, Sunwill will further intensify its fire safety awareness campaigns, expand the scope of emergency training, and continue to improve fire safety facilities both within and outside the company. We will also encourage employees to actively fulfill their social responsibilities to the best of their ability. We are confident that with the joint efforts of these responsible and courageous employees, Shunwei will take even more solid steps forward on the path of corporate development and social responsibility.
